Nominations due for the 2023 ANS Winter Meeting awards

The American Nuclear Society’s national meetings and ANS’s honors and awards program are a unique pairing. Through the program, ANS recognizes outstanding achievements and meritorious services in the various fields served by the Society. Every year, ANS awards are split into two, with some awarded in June at the Annual Meeting and others in November at the Winter Meeting.

The recipients of ANS awards will be recognized during the 2021 ANS Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C., during the opening plenary and President’s Special Session. The national awards will be presented by President Steven Nesbit and Honors and Awards Committee chair H. M. “Hash” Hashemian.

Young Member Group 200x52Benoit Forget, associate professor of nuclear science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was honored with the 2013 ANS Landis Young Member Engineering Achievement Award. The award recognizes outstanding achievement for effectively applying engineering knowledge to yield a new principle, concept, design, safety improvement, method of analysis, or product used in the nuclear energy enterprise.
